Autumn staycation: the best hotel deals for a city break
Staying within the city this autumn? These city escapes are the perfect way to relax and unwind

Amidst the uncertainty around Dublin’s place in the Living with Covid plan, it can be hard to think about breaks away or relaxing weekends. But throughout the pandemic, our interest has always been in supporting local and buying Irish. We may not be able to stay in a hotel this weekend, or venture outside of Dublin, but we can definitely plan ahead to have something fabulous to look forward to.
As this has been the summer of staycations, the west of Ireland has gotten all the attention (and rightly so). But we can sometimes forget about the beautiful hotels and thousands of things to do right here in the capital. Some of Dublin’s best hotels have got some really fantastic deals available at the moment, and if you’re looking to escape, even if it’s just down the road, they’ve got it covered.

The Wilder Townhouse

The Wilder is one of Dublin’s finest residents-only Townhouses, nestled away in beautifully manicured gardens on the south side of the city. Lovingly restored, the Victorian townhouse offers a luxurious retreat away right in the centre of the city.

This autumn, the Wilder has introduced their “Fall on The Wilder Side” package, which includes overnight accommodation, full breakfast and two seasonal cocktails on arrival in their Gin and Tea Rooms (or brought to your room, if you prefer). The ‘Fall on The Wilder Side’ Package starts from €150 per room.

The Westbury

A stalwart of the luxury Dublin scene, we all love to spend time in The Westbury and their latest range of packages make it even more tempting. The five-star city centre hotel is renowned for its warm welcome, and have packages available to suit couples, families, a girly weekend, or a solo escape. During their stay, guests can head to The Gallery and indulge in Afternoon Tea, alongside a glass of champagne. The Westbury’s restaurants are second-to-none, as well as The Sidecar, their cocktail bar famous for its lavish interiors.  You can find their full range of packages on their website.

Stauntons on the Green

Another fabulous townhouse in the centre of the city, Stauntons on the Green is steeped in history and heritage. Built in 1750, the Georgian townhouse has housed some of the most interesting figures in Irish history, and now offers those rooms to guests looking for some luxury. Stauntons on the Green is currently offering a 3 nights for the price of 2 offer, from €232 per stay including a glass of Prosecco on arrival.

InterContinental Ballsbridge

The five-star InterContinental in Ballsbridge is nestled on nearly two acres of landscaped gardens, and is the perfect escape just outside of the busyness of the inner city. The hotel’s guest rooms and suites are Dublin’s most spacious five-star rooms, and there are plenty of interconnecting options if you’re travelling with a group.

Their Magical Moments package offers a night’s stay with a bottle of prosecco on arrival and a full Irish breakfast the next morning. Enjoy access to the Wellness Area and 10% off treatments at the ESPA spa, before a late checkout the next day. This package is available from €279.00 per room per night.
