3 city-centre homes around the country for €175,000 and under

If you love the buzz of living in an urban area, check out these homes in Cork, Limerick, and Waterford.

Although much has been made of city-dwellers upping sticks for the countryside during the pandemic, there are still plenty of people who can’t imagine living away from the hustle and bustle of a city.

From the convenience of having countless shops and restaurants in close proximity, to the many activities that are on offer, now that things are slowly opening up again, we’re reminded of the great things that cities have to offer.

If you’re looking for a city home on a budget, we’ve found three options in Cork, Limerick, and Waterford.

1 Windmill Street, Limerick, €175,000

city homes under €175,000

This three-storey Georgian home has plenty of character, including an exposed stone wall in the hallway. Its rooms are well-sized, and has an impressive four bedrooms, making it large for a city-centre home.

It is located just ten minutes from the main shopping area of the city, the popular People’s Park, and the train station, and just five minutes from the river Shannon, perfect for walks with water views.

4 Tivoli Cottages, Cork, €165,000

city homes under €175,000

This one-bed terraced home is small but has everything a single person or couple would need. The simple decor shows that the home is in good condition, and leaves room for a new owner to put their own stamp on it.

This home is located close to the city centre, just 15 minutes away by bus or bike. Very close to the river Lee, it also has local shops and amenities close by.

4 Francis St, Waterford, €175,000

city homes under €175,000

This two-bed townhouse has clearly been well cared-for, and its stylish interior means any buyer could move straight in. There is a raised decking area in the back garden that would be perfect for dining outside in the summer.

Just ten minutes’ walk from the main shopping area, it’s right at the heart of Waterford city, so you would have all the city has to offer on your doorstep. As well as this, it’s just 20 minutes’ drive from the coast, where there are many popular beaches to enjoy.
