A Sensitive Offaly Reno & A Sligo Bungalow In The New Image Interiors & Living

“Days one mindlessly fritters away are the best days” – Marty Rubin

We are ready for spring. Longer days, lighter layers, dining outdoors as sunshine dancing across the walls. In the March/April issue, we’re feeling revitalised with new ideas and designs, inspired by real homes, new and old, as well as making travel plans and taking notes on the work of some interesting Irish creatives.

The Houses

In Tullamore, there’s a Georgian renovation that marries antique furniture and family heirlooms with thoroughly modern finishes, while in Sligo a bungalow has been given a family-centric makeover with hardy materials and charming dollops of colour. We also speak to three families who converted childhood back gardens into comfortable family homes of their own. And in Cavan, we visit Lisnavagh, the once-crumbling historic estate of the Bunburys.

Bonding Time

We learn about the aged Irish art of whiskey bonding and meet the people reviving it, sans distillery, from Chapel Gate in Co Clare to the Dublin Whiskey Distillery in the capital.

Paris Report

We spent a weekend in Paris coddiwompling (our new favourite word) around the vast Maison & Objet, where many of the world’s most interesting designers and brands chose to unveil new pieces and collaborations. We round up some of the best in our four-page report.

Stair Ways

Why don’t we make more of one of the largest architectural features in our homes? We explore eight projects that have made staircases an elemental piece in their home and hear from architects and experts on how to incorporate the stairway into the home’s core design.

Palm Springs

Get ready for an architectural adventure as Palm Springs welcomes architects and design enthusiasts alike to Modernism Week. We take a look inside some of the mid-century homes that open their doors exclusively to this hot-ticket week, from Elvis Presley’s honeymoon home to the futuristic Elrod House whose pool featured in the famous Diamonds are Forever scene.

The Image Interiors & Living March/April issue is on shelves now, or available for purchase here.
