Faye Dinsmore’s Favourites

Faye Dinsmore’s Favourites

At 26, Donegal native Faye Dinsmore is an internationally recognised model who has shot editorial for presitigious European magazines and featured in worldwide advertising campaigns. Namely, she’s fronting Kevin Abosch‘s “5117 KM,” a large-scale campaign that will debut in January in Paris. The project itself is a study of proximity and intimacy, as the artist explains. In other words, while a plane ticket may be required to get a peek at Faye’s work, as a newly signed model in the U.S., that won’t be the case for long. Recently signed to Ford Models NY, Faye is also on the books of agencies in London, Paris and Barcelona. The Trinity College graduate (who has a degree in French and Classics) will also front photographer Kevin Abosch’s portrait exhibition, a large scale campaign which debuts in Paris this January. We find out her favourites here.

My most memorable fashion shows?

I walked in shows during London, Paris and New York fashion weeks years ago but not for any household name designers. I’ve never been a showgirl and while it’s fun to do them a few times and I’m glad I had that experience, for me it was never a side of fashion worth pursuing, mainly because they don’t pay and as I go to work to work, it’s crucial that I get paid! I walked for Levi in Paris years ago and that was great because they made a pair of jeans specially to fit me which I still have and love. I walked for a new designer at the time called Eric Tibusch and Anna Wintour was sitting front row, but to be honest I barely knew who she was at the time.

Favourite shops?

The Monocle shops in London and New York, they are full of quirky pieces and fun to look around.

Favourite cities?

I love Paris for work as they treat models like stars which is refreshing in this industry. London I love as I have so many friends there. Barcelona for its atmosphere. Rome because I get to feel really smug about knowing so much about the history of the city as that was part of what I studied at university. NY for its possibilities and best vintage shopping. Lastly, Dublin for the buzz and sense that times are changing.

Favourite book?

Herodotus ‘The Histories’, though I had the Penguin version in college, the editor of Forbes just sent me the “Landmark” edition which I am pretty pleased about. References in the page margin not the back of the book; genius.

Favourite app?

Any of the photo apps as I’m always taking pictures!

Favourite snack or treat?

Avocado on toast with chilli flakes and pepper.

Favourite flower?

I know my fianc? thinks it’s sun flowers… but any flowers really except lillies.

What perfume do you wear?

Ellie Saab ‘Le Parfum’.
