Dancing and danger – your guide to the Bank Holiday weekend in Dublin

It’s here folks! The Halloween Bank Holiday weekend has arrived, and not a minute too soon. No doubt you’ll have plenty of plans ready for the weekend, but if you need some help, Dublin has everything going on. There’s an art exhibition (for a very good cause), a brilliant music festival, a spooky Samhain festival and a masquerade ball to round it all off. Have a great weekend from IMAGE!

Friday: Kick things off with the Grey Area Exhibition II

Grey Area, a collaboration of Ireland’s best artists, are aiming to raise between €30,000 and €50,000 on Friday night’s exhibition for ICHH as they combat our homelessness crisis. Featuring pieces from in-demand artists such as Decoy, Subset and Joe Caslin, each guest will also receive a copy of the 64-page single edition Grey Area magazine on the night. Tickets are €30, with all profits from sales of prints going to the ICHH.

This weekend: Dance it out at Metropolis

The Villagers. Friendly Fires. Booka Brass Band. Róisín Murphy. Mac DeMarco. And David O’Dohery as MC. Weekend tickets are, unbelievably, still available.

This weekend: Get in the spirit at the Bram Stoker festival

Four days of terrifying adventures will take place across the city this weekend, as part of the ever-brilliant Bram Stoker festival. A haunted audio tour of the city and Creature Features, which pegs itself as a ‘botanical bloodfest’ at the Botanic Gardens look like the highlights of the weekend.

Sunday: Dance the night away at the Goblin King’s Masquerade Ball at the Grand Social

Any fans of Labyrinth in the house? Who am I kidding, of course there are. Celebrate all things David Bowie at the Grand Social’s Bank Holiday party, with a masquerade ball to get in the Halloween spirit.
