Beers and business plans: your guide to the weekend ahead

While you may have missed the event of the season already this week (the launch of IMAGE’s brand new fashion podcast Smart Casual, of course), there’s plenty more going on to keep you entertained. Whether its the craic and beers of Oktoberfest as it opens its doors, or if you’re looking for something more professional, we’ve got you covered. Happy weekend from IMAGE!

This weekend: Bottoms up at Oktoberfest Dublin

A staple in the Dublin calendar at this stage, Oktoberfest is back at George’s Dock for the rest of the month, serving healthy amounts of pretzels, Bavarian beer and cheesy tunes to kick off a great night out. It’s free in every night except Thursday after 6 pm (€8), or Friday and Saturday (€12, which includes a fiver food voucher).

On Saturday: Get cultured at DUBLinternational

Featuring street performers, workshops, activities for kids and youths and community chats, DUBLinternational festival is another shining example of how magic Dublin is in its diversity and multiculturism. Have a wander around Smithfield and beyond in the city on Saturday and find some fab things going on.

On Saturday: Get a head start at the Start Summit

If you’re a budding entrepreneurship or just someone who has an idea for a new business, the Start Summit could become your new secret weapon. This one-day event in Dublin Castle is chock-full of seminars and discussions on absolutely everything you need to run a business – we’re talking government supports, accounting, building a website and more. Well worth the investment.
