Johnny Depp Worries About Daughter’s Modelling Career

Though he seems like he would be the coolest, most chilled dad ever, Hollywood star Johnny Depp has revealed that he worries ?quite a lot? about his young daughter’s growing career in the entertainment industry.

The 16-year-old is moving up the ranks very quickly for a newcomer on the scene, but this was surely inevitable given that her mother is well-known French singer and model Vanessa Paradis and her dad is one of the most famous people in the industry. It makes sense that she would yearn to follow in the footsteps of her parents in some form.

In a recent interview, Depp expressed mixed feelings about his daughter’s seemingly quick transition from Los Angeles not-so-normal teenager to fashion and film darling. Reports emerged that the young model has no less than two film projects in development at the moment, and we’re quite sure her career in fashion is only getting started if her latest Chanel campaign is anything to go by. She is also featured in the current issue of Vogue Paris.

To be honest, I’m quite worried,? he told Germany’s Gala Magazine of his only daughter’s career. ?I wasn’t expecting all this to happen to Lily-Rose, especially not at this age. But it’s her passion and she’s having fun.? She may be young, but she is slowly knitting together a career for herself. And her mother started out even younger than her daughter; she had a hit single at just 14 and her first Chanel campaign at 19.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star’s daughter was swiftly welcomed into the world of fashion after attending a Chanel show in New York back in March. In the company of her mother, French actress and singer Vanessa Paradis, the then-15-year-old made her first public appearance decked in the luxury label’s wares at a catwalk event attended by stars such as Beyonc?, Julianne Moore and Pharrell Williams. Not bad for a first proper job.

Given the track record of child celebrities going off the rails as adults (Lindsey Lohan, Amanda Bynes), the 52-year-old’s concern isn’t unwarranted, but his young daughter has already displayed her maturity in a foretelling Instagram post and with parents who have been there and worn the t-shirt, hopefully they can steer her in the right direction.

Depp added, ?She knows I’m always there for her if she needs anything.? Proud celeb dads, you gotta love ?em.
