Fancy some tough love? These faux leather trousers are the perfect date night outfit maker
Amongst the floral dresses, tulle overlays and endless pastels, one trend we have seen everywhere so far this fashion month has been decidedly tougher. Leather, and specifically leather trousers (we prefer the faux variety, ourselves), are everywhere on the street style scene as of late, with those in the fashion world loving its tough look paired with its great insulation against those bitter February winds.
Leather trousers are notoriously difficult to get right — you don't want a Ross Geller moment here. But the good news is that we have a lot more variety now than the early days of leather pants. Go for the shapes that you already know suit you — whether it's a tapered leg, a classic skinny, or culottes, there is a silhouette for everyone.
When it comes to colours, black is your best bet for a classic look, but there are plenty of other options too. Go for white for a clean-cut look; pair brown with a seventies print shirt and oversized sunnies for a vintage-inspired look; or go completely 2020 with pastel leather and get ready for spring.
