Princess Charlotte Has Her Christening

Princess Charlotte Has Her Christening

See More Photos
It seemed like only yesterday we saw those gorgeous pictures of Prince George holding his baby sister Princess Charlotte, and now the day of her Christening has arrived. We won’t get the official photos of the family for another day or two (these will be taken by renowned photographer Mario Testino, who said he was”?overwhelmed and honoured” to have been chosen) but we’ve still managed to collect a few suitably gorgeous snaps from the family as they gathered outside the church and we should have more after the service.

The royal Christening took place in?St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham in Norfolk in England. This particular church is also a very touching choice as it has links with the late Princess Diana. It was reportedly a small enough gathering, with only close friends, family and of course Princess Charlotte’s godparents attending. The five godparents chosen were friends of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge: Sophie Carter, James Meade, Kate’s cousin Adam Middleton, the Hon Laura Fellowes and Thomas van Straubenzee. So, similar to George’s godparents, no royals were chosen. This is, if reports are to be believed, so that that Kate and William can continue to give their family as normal an upbringing as possible. We’d say this is very true. ?Prince Harry wasn’t chosen for god parenting duties, but he couldn’t attend the ceremony regardless as he’s currently on a three-month conservation mission in Africa.

This is possibly our favourite picture:

The entire family looked gorgeous and happy. Kate looked absolutely, radiantly beautiful (wearing Alexander McQueen) and Prince George looked as cute as ever. It was little Princess Charlotte who stole the show though in her?”hand made replica of the Royal Christening Robe, made by Angela Kelly, Dressmaker to The Queen,”?according to?Kensington Palace. We have a picture or two because although the ceremony was private,?royal well-wishers were allowed to?wait in a paddock in an attempt to catch a glimpse of Charlotte and the family, prior to the service starting.

We’ll be dying to see the official pictures, but these will tide us over in the meantime. Such gorgeous photos.
