Zooey Deschanel is Pregnant!

The New Girl is set to be a New Mom! Fringe ambassador Zooey Deschanel is expecting her first child with Jacob Pechenik, her partner since last year. The 34-year-old actress told PEOPLE ?Jacob and I are over the moon. We are so excited to meet our little one.? The happy news comes just after Deschanel’s sister and Bones actress Emily announced her second pregnancy.

Deschanel was previously married to musician Ben Gibbard for two years. Gibbard was lead singer with indie band Death Cab for Cutie who you may recognise from that The OC soundtrack that you and your mother bought. They divorced in 2012. Pechenik is a film producer with a resum? that includes critically acclaimed movies The Immigrant, Before Midnight and The Skeleton Twins. The couple reportedly met on the set of Rock the Kasbah, an upcoming release in which Deschanel stars alongside Bill Murray and Bruce Willis. Tabloid shots of them since have tended towards the kissing in public kind.

We wish this lovely couple the very best in what promises to be a very busy 2015. We’re also curious about how New Girl writers will handle that no doubt adorable baby bump… One thing we do know? Deschanel is going to be AMAZING at lullabies if her musical track record is anything to go by. That baby is going to be rocked to sleep with adorable folk.
