Watch: 7 Times Stars Sang Along With Classroom Instruments

Watch: 7 Times Stars Sang Along With Classroom Instruments

It’s Monday; it’s miserable, and we’re in great need of cheering up. Here at IMAGE, we were reminiscing over what makes us giggle, and we were reminded of that deadly time Adele sang ‘Hello’ on Jimmy Fallon accompanied by nothing but classroom instruments. The US talk show host and his in-house band The Roots have taken these humble musical tools and elevated them into something quite brilliant.

We’ve since discovered that many a celebrity has belted out a tune in the same setting, and the videos are hilariously good. Below are the best seven, from Christina Aguilera to Carly Rae Jepson (you know you love to hate Call Me Maybe), Mariah Carey and Queen Adele. Watch them and banish those Monday blues.

1. ADELE – HELLO

Her vocals are flawless; why are we even surprised the tune sounds amazing? Also, Fallon’s facial expression when Adele starts to sing is all of us forever.

2.?CARLY RAE JEPSEN – CALL ME MAYBE

Yes, the original was played to death, but this re-jigged version is surprisingly less annoying. They genuinely look like they are having the craic and Jepsen can certainly hold a tune.

3. CHRISTINA AGUILERA – YOUR BODY

This clip is a little different to the rest in that Fallon and Co use office supplies instead of classroom instruments, but it’s so good that it couldn’t be left out. From Aguilera’s powerhouse vocals to Fallon’s impromptu’dance moves and sound effects made from scissors and paper; it shouldn’t work, but it is the best thing ever.

4. MEGHAN TRAINER – ALL ABOUT THAT BASS

The girl has pipes, and the song is ridiculously catchy.?Better than the original? We’re calling it.

5.?JIMMY FALLON AND THE ROOTS – SESAME STREET THEME SONG

This rendition of the Sesame Street theme song just may be the greatest clip ever. After all, who could ever resist Cookie Monster and Elmo belting it out?

6.?MARIAH CAREY – ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU

This is a Christmas tune, but we’re not even sorry.?Mariah Carey’s voice paired with the kids’ backing vocals makes this video more than worth mentioning. She’s a diva but so talented that we’ll forgive.

7. ?IDINA MENZEL – LET IT GO

We’ve reached Frozen saturation point, but this is brilliant. Everyone looks like they’re having a blast, the audience are really into it and on a notoriously difficult song, a relaxed, post-Oscars Idina Menzel has never sounded better.
