Amy Schumer’s Inspiring NSFW Acceptance Speech

Amy Schumer

Amy Schumer is having a major moment in the spotlight. She’s perhaps the funniest female comedian on the go right now (paying her respects here to the inimitable Jennifer Saunders) and we simply can’t get enough of her. She shoots from the hip, she says what many are afraid to say and best of all, she’s relatable.

Earlier this week, she was the proud winner of Glamour Magazine’s Trailblazer award at their Women of the Year Awards and in true Schumer fashion, her acceptance speech was pure gold. Normally, she notes, similar magazines treat female comedians as though they’re one big human prop (she describes it better herself but it’s INSANELY NSFW), but Glamour were a different kettle of fish.

Filled with expletives and sentences that would turn your granny pink, we’ll leave you to watch Amy’s oddly inspirational speech, in which she reminds women everywhere that you don’t need to be a super model to get far in the world anymore.

?I didn’t lose my two front teeth until I was in 5th grade, which is late. And that very same week, I got my period. Which is early. So I was just this jack-o-lantern with tits walking around, and I had one of those moms that was like, ?You don’t need to shave above your knees.??

We love her. Do you?
