When we saw that graphic designer Jessica Walsh (partner in legendary New York design firm Sagmeister & Walsh and coolest girl, ever) wore a jumpsuit when she got married last month, a light bulb shone bright atop of our glossy tresses. Our forecast for a shift in how we’ll dress to wed, in 2015, grew some wings.

Civil ceremonies, in particular, offer the appropriate conditions for jumpsuit-wearing. Similar to Walsh, Amal Alamuddin wore a flowing one-piece, as she became Mrs Clooney. So, it seems that prospective brides are more comfortable expressing their bridal style than ever before? and that an ivory dress is no longer your only option if you’re too original for white.

Jumpsuits are ideal for any bride-to-be looking for minimal effort and maximum wow. Because the piece will be a statement in itself, keep styling to a minimum; statement earrings and loose flowing locks are the only accessories you’ll need. By keeping your details simple you won’t run the risk of looking like a time-capsuled disaster when you look back on your wedding photos, in a decade – instead, you’ll evoke timeless style.
