Dressing for a wedding can be complicated at any time of the year, but particularly during the winter months when you?can’t keep to the usual’motto of “any floaty floral dress will do”.

So your friend has announced “We picked a date! It’s in November! In Ireland!” and your thoughts immediately go to “Is it acceptable to wear tights to a formal event?”. While?we’re not here to weigh in on the tights-or-no-tights debate we are here to tell you there are plenty of options when it comes to what to wear.

We’ve selected four different options depending on your style and the type of wedding – from a crisp urban venue to an all-out ball. Check out the four outfits below and shop the individual pieces by going ‘fullscreen’ in the gallery.

ASOS Suit?/ Topshop Camisole / Cold Lillies Bangle / Zara Faux Fur Stole / Kurt Geiger Courts

We’re in love with this ASOS crepe suit – the colour, the cut, just everything. Go for a pop of colour with this yellow Topshop cami and keep the jewellery simple to complement the mix of prints in the Zara stole and Kurt Geiger reptile heels. This look is all about luxe modernity.

Red Valentino Coat / Chupi Earrings /?ASOS Faux Fur Clutch?/ Carvela Court Shoes?/ Max Mara Dress?/ ASOS Embellished Belt

Heading to the wedding of a work colleague? You know this wedding?be part-celebration, part-networking event and you have?to look sophisticated ?and chic but with a bit of fun. This Max Mara dress is one you’ll wear over and over and it’s a great transition piece – from meetings and work drinks to date night and parties. The ASOS embellished belt and faux fur clutch add some?edge to the look and THAT Red Valentino coat?! Talk about classic with a twist!

Feminine and Flirty

Red Valentino Dress?/ ASOS Embellished Cape /?Reiss Belt?/ Vince Camuto Boots?/?Rotary Watch?/?& Other Stories Clutch?

This look is the one you’ll wear to your childhood friends wedding, where you’ll know everyone and intend to dance until the DJ gives in. These Vince Camuto Boots are not too high and super comfortable so you won’t have to be worrying about your feet and the olive green Red Valentino dress is ideal for a winter wedding – still celebratory but not floaty?either. The sparkly ASOS cape gives the entire look a glitzy finish with a Rotary gents gold watch to temper?the flirtiness. We’re in love.
