Watch: Save The Date Video Is Almost Too Cute

Save The Date

Wedding invites. Years ago you’d book the local hotel, visit a stationery shop and choose an invite that didn’t make your mother and father grimace at the price.

Now, it’s all about putting your personal stamp on the day that legalises your union and makes taxes easier. Couples have whimsical save the dates, comic strips announcing their engagement, carefully shot Instagram posts of that just engaged moment. Forget carats. It’s more about views and likes these days.

However, this Wes Anderson inspired Save the Date video might be the pinnacle of such hipster wedding planning behavior. Jon and Jess are the couple in question, and their video is a quirky montage of their interests and the special places that have brought them together. There’s a jaunty soundtrack and everyone’s clothes look impeccable. Does it remind anyone else of the movie 500 Days of Summer?

And you thought you were 2015 cool hiring an illustrator to do the invites.
