Watch: Emma Watson Beatboxes For Gender Equality And It’s Great

Just how far is actress Emma Watson prepared to go in the name of gender equality? Very far, as it turns out. The activist went out – way, way out – of her comfort zone to further?highlight her crusading campaign for women’s rights by attempting to master something she’d never tried before: beatboxing.

All in aid of a great cause, Watson acted as a human beatbox for?American actor and rapper?Lin-Manuel Miranda’s gender-themed verse, even though she was clearly mortified. That is what we would call dedication. ?This was done in the name of the HeForShe Campaign, of which Watson is a spokesperson and vocal supporter though perhaps this isn’t what she’d had in mind.

After some coaxing, ?the actress finally?gets into beatboxing position – hand over her mouth to act as a “spit guard,” crucial, of course ?- and throws herself into?her new role.

Miranda provides this quirky and on-point rap: “Yo, it’s Lin, and I have to laugh, how can we not be equal, we’re like half. Like women are half of the people on Earth.?And yes they should’ve been equal since birth. That means all day, every day, equal pay, every way,” while Watson turns a shade of pink. It’s hilarious and makes for a great watch.

She’s rather good, but we imagine she’ll stick to the day job for the time being.

See the clip below:
