Remember the Caitlyn Jenner Vanity Fair cover that, hopefully, marked a revolution in how the media and public treat transgender issues?
Well, while Caitlyn is busy promoting her E! reality television show about her new life, I Am Cait, Vanity Fair have released this compelling short about the lead-up to that iconic Annie Leibovitz photo shoot. Caitlyn talks about how she was cooped up in her Malibu house for three months before the big reveal; being hounded by trespassing paparazzi and coming to terms with the fact she’s now who she wants to be. There’s also some detail at the top-secret nature of the story and the amount of security that went into getting a magazine on shelves before an internet leak ran away with the story.
It’s a rather moving ten minutes, and we did have a little cry at breakfast at this story of Caitlyn’s debut.
