Mode.com are back with another brilliant video that takes us swiftly through the ages. This time around, we’re not chronicling the ways in which men’s swimwear has grown ever tighter (avert your eyes!) before loosening out again to hideous Hawaii-inspired board shorts, we’re looking at engagement rings. Far more enjoyable.

Though we think of engagement rings as something classic and timeless, they experience trends just like everything else. If you’ve been pondering over while style will best suit you, or you’re looking for something vintage but not sure which era to go for, this video will satisfy the magpie within you.

Will you gravitate towards the art deco or indulge your inner princess? And what of the solitaire vs three-stone ring debate? (We’re not sure there’s an actual debate but we’re ready to start one).
