Sharon Horgan Honoured At Glamour Awards

Sharon Horgan Honoured At Glamour Awards

In case you needed further proof that Irish actress Sharon Horgan is quite possibly the deadliest person ever, here it is. The Catastrophe creator was?honoured with the Trailblazer Award at the annual Glamour magazine Women of the Year event in London on Tuesday night. The annual awards ceremony celebrated women’s achievements in the entertainment industry and had a star-studded guest list including Absolutely Fabulous’ Jennifer Saunders,?Krysten Ritter, as well as our own Laura Whitmore.?Sigourney Weaver and Susan Sarandon were also honoured with the Glamour Icon and Glamour Inspiration?awards respectively.?More than 700,000 votes were cast for the awards, which are in their 13th year, and include categories ranging from sportswoman to?Entrepreneur. To see successful women united in solidarity with one another is always a great thing, made better still by the fact that the Meath native is getting further recognition for her talent and amazing work (if you haven’t watched Catastrophe yet, get on it, seriously).

Sadly Horgan wasn’t there in person to collect her gong, no doubt thanks to her busy timetable; she is one of the many women happily sitting atop Channel 4’s comedy throne thanks to Catastrophe getting renewed for a third season (YAY) and her new dinner party comedy The Circuit which will see her’reunited with her Pulling co-writer Dennis Kelly – we already know it’s going to be viewing gold.

Also lined up is her part in Sarah Jessica Parker’s TV comeback. She penned the script for HBO’s?Divorce (currently in post-production) which stars Parker, who will play a woman going through a messy split from her husband.

With all the above on the horizon, we just know that 2016 will be Horgan’s best year yet.
