Serena Williams Got Married And Her Wedding Gown Was AMAZING

Serena Williams Got Married And Her Wedding Gown Was AMAZING

When an iconic sportswoman like Serena Williams gets married, you know it’s never going to be a standard wedding. Williams had a wedding fit for the queen she is; marrying fiancé and Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian in New Orleans. Yes it was lavish and yes, there was one hell of a celebrity guest list but it was Williams’ wedding dress that took centre stage. She looked utterly beautiful saying her vows in a voluminous Alexander McQueen gown (with matching cape) and then equally so as she changed into a feathered cocktail dress from Versace for the wedding reception. Her bridesmaids (including sister and doubles partner Venus Williams), wore striking custom metallic gowns by Galia Lahav.

“I flew to London to meet with Sarah [Burton of Alexander McQueen] and ended up falling in love with the ball gown silhouette, which is completely the opposite of what I ever thought I would choose for myself,” Serena said in an interview with Vogue. “I loved the idea of doing a really spectacular ball gown, and it has turned out to be such an incredibly special piece.”

The guest list wasn’t too shabby either: Anna Wintour, Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, Lala Anthony, Ciara, Cynthia Erivo, Kim Kardashian West and Eva Longoria all attended and turned heads. Kardashian went the little black dress route with a simple Alex Perry maxi and Longoria’s sheer, embellished navy gown was eye-catching, to say the least. And Beyoncé? That hair. There are no words.
