Reform your Bod with Reformer Pilates

Reform your Bod with Reformer Pilates

What do Victoria Secret models, Naomi Campbell, Vanessa Hudgens and Kim Kardashian all have in common? Apart from being famous, they all look inarguably bangin’ in a bikini – and they all credit that to reformer pilates.

What is Reformer Pilates?
None of that busy stretching on a mat business, reformer pilates uses a rather impressive looking spring-based wooden resistance machine that dramatically changes the way you exercise. ?And more importantly, anyone can do it.? It’s safe and beneficial for all ages; for those in rehabilitation; and you can even work out when pregnant (if you really want to) to both exercise your core muscles and reduce lower back and pelvic pain. Sounds good, no? Yeah? OK.

How does it work?
Invented by Joseph Pilates himself, the reformer moves back and forth on rollers for a wide variety of exercises with differing levels of resistance meaning you get a lot more out of your work-out in a lot less time. ?You could easily slot a session in before breakfast (if getting out of bed isn’t enough exercise for you) or on your lunch break. ?With over 200 exercises, in a variety of positions (ie. lying down, sitting, and standing),?the workouts target strength, flexibility, balance and coordination. Basically this machine IS A MACHINE.

The IMAGE ladies are giving it a bash at our local Reformer Pilates studio just up the road, from our offices in Dun Laoghaire. ?We’re hoping to pop down during lunch and walk out the door looking like Reformer Pilates champion and Victoria Secret model, Alessandra Ambrossio. No probs.

If you want to see what all the fuss is about you have the perfect opportunity to meet the teachers and check out the facilities at an Open Day on September 13th.?and classes are starting Tuesday, 16th September.
