Five inspirational podcasts to help you live better

Business coach, James Sweetman will be hosting an exclusive  IMAGE Masterclass about taking ownership of your career on October 17. Here, he shares his top six podcasts to inspire you to live well and focus the mind for everything that life brings your way.

On Being with Krista Tippett
This award-winning podcast poses big questions – what does it mean to be human? How do we want to live? As an established podcast there are interviews with some of my favourite authors and speakers, the likes of Brené Brown, Elizabeth Gilbert and Seth Godin to name just a few. There is also one of the last interviews with the late great John O’Donohue, the Irish philosopher and author. It’s worth tuning in for that interview alone (titled ‘The Inner Landscape of Beauty’).

Book now: Taking Control of Your Career Masterclass, Oct 17

Supersoul Sunday
It goes without saying that I’m a huge fan of the queen herself, Ms Oprah Winfrey. For many years I’ve watched and listened to Supersoul Sunday. Oprah interviews thought-leaders, authors, spiritual luminaries, as well as health and wellness experts. There have been plenty of personal ‘a-ha moments’ and after tuning in, I always feel a little closer to living my best life.

Happy Place – Fearne Cotton
I’d seen broadcaster Fearne Cotton on TV, but only recently discovered her podcast Happy Place. As she says herself, her podcast is the place where she collects all things that make her happy from joyful food to a clear mind. I loved her interview with Russell Brand and a recent episode where she sat down with Hozier.

The Robin Sharma Mastery Sessions
Robin Sharma is the author of several books including The 5am Club and The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari. I’ve been fortunate to hear him speak in person several times. His podcasts are not only motivational, but also contain useful reminders and insights when it comes to business and career development, especially in the areas of cultivating a ‘winning mindset’ and the disciplines required for success.

Your Time with James Sweetman
I had to include my own podcast on the list because it is a real labour of love. Every week I share thoughts and insights on a range of personal and career development topics. I called it ‘Your Time’ because my intention is that it is an opportunity to take some time out of your busy week just for you. In many episodes, for example ‘Overcoming worry,’ and ‘Creating a more equitable work life balance,’ I’m exploring topics I’m grappling with myself.
