This stunning period house for sale in Wicklow has just gone sale agreed, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a nosey round, does it?

This huge period home, thought to have been originally built in the late 1700s, has just gone sale agreed in the lovely village of Delgany near Greystones, Co Wicklow.

Extended in the mid-1800s, it’s now a light and bright five-bedroom family home, with its own gate lodge and large, private gardens.

Keeping much of its original period features, including cornicing, windows and fireplaces, it’s been extensively renovated in recent times. Now the main reception rooms are painted a crisp white, accentuating the high ceilings and Georgian architecture.

Just off the main double-height entrance hall is the open-plan kitchen-living-diner, with French doors onto a south-facing terrace. Above the dining table, an old and productive grapevine adorns the glass roof.

In the kitchen, an Aga, Belfast sink and marble worktops make for a comfortable space to cook and entertain in while a living space beside it has its own stove. This also abuts another small sunroom for more casual summer dining.

A larder, boot room and large utility offer ample space for storage, as well as a spacious formal drawing room and comfortable study which makes up the rest of the ground floor.

Upstairs are five bedrooms, three of which are ensuite including the spacious master bedroom as well as a large family bathroom.

The area around the house is currently under development but surrounded by high walls and facing onto a large private garden of about 1.2 acres, the house is not overlooked and retains its historic elegance.

Also on the property are a series of outbuildings, including a self-contained gate lodge that has been converted into a one-bedroom bungalow. A double garage, yard, canteen bathroom and six stables can be found to the rear of the property along with ample parking and a large, mature garden.
