Six perfect off-the-shoulder wedding dresses for a striking bride

These days, virtually anything goes when it comes to your wedding dress. You can go traditional as many choose to, or some want to eschew this and opt for a slightly different yet equally striking look in terms of the gown.

Your personal tastes will always largely dictate your choice but these days, trends are impossible to ignore. Every bride wants their dress to evoke a timeless quality, but you don’t have to go down the Grace Kelly route to achieve this. If you frequent Pinterest for bridal inspiration, you’ll be pleased to know that there’s an increasing trend for one particular fashion-forward style for 2018 weddings: off-the-shoulder wedding dresses.

Pinterest has seen a 158% increase in the surge in pins for off-the-shoulder wedding dresses, a trend the follows the Bardot-style fashion pieces so popular this past summer.

Scroll below for six of our favourite wedding dresses in this design, ideal if you’re looking to go for a look slightly more unique:

ASOS BRIDAL Oversized Sleeved Wrap Front Maxi Dress, €162.16

It’s the puff sleeves, tie detail and wrap-over skirt that makes this a standout gown.

JILLIANNA Gown, from €800-€3000

Beaded lace appliques and Swarovski crystals cascade over a layer of Inessa Jersey in this striking off-the-shoulder wedding dress that is all about elegant feminity.

Debut – Ivory lace ‘Eternity’ Bardot neck wedding dress, €370.00

This gown’s lace-detail gives it a traditional twist while still retaining the trend. Its tea dress shape is also popular at the moment.

SIES MARJAN Rita cold-shoulder crepe dress, €1,339

If you’re afraid of feeling too bare, this ‘cold shoulder’ dress is both classy and goddess-like. And the flute sleeves are exquisite.

SELF-PORTRAIT Bardot guipure lace-trimmed satin gown, €660

The embellished neckline is the standout here, with high-low hemline ideal showing if you’re not keen on a floor-length gown and would like to show off a statement shoe.

Sottero and Midgley, Addison, €900 – €4,500

This stunning off the shoulder cap sleeve ties in the back to create a statement bow. Gorgeous.
