New furniture for under €150 to snap up in Jysk

The autumn collection from interiors brand Jysk is a budget-busting round-up of colourful Scandinavian design that you’ll love.

If you’ve wandered into one of Jysk’s Irish shops in Naas, Drogheda or Navan, then you already know what a haven it is for interiors fans on tight budgets. A mix of accessories, lighting, furniture and textiles, Jysk is known for its quality bedlinen and pared-back Scandinavian aesthetic. Think Ikea, minus the mid-aisle meltdowns.

Now, they’re about to launch their autumn collection on August 29 and it’s a snuggly combination of warm colours of amber orange, soft coral and sky blues, paired with geometric shapes and layered over organic silhouettes. They’re also offering an introduction reduction on all the new items until September 5 so have a peek at the collection below and begin plotting a quick dash to your closest shop.

And that might be even closer now, as Jysk prepares to open it’s fourth shop in Ireland in Portlaoise on August 30. Even more of a reason to have a proper nosey…

Trappdal bookcase, €129, on offer for €99 until September 5

There are some gorgeous textile-driven pieces of furniture in the new collection, but we’re particularly fond of this industrial black bookcase, ideal against a wall or as a subtle room partition.

Oval Wall shelf €34.99, on offer for €25 until September 5, Bellelund armchair, €169, on offer for €125 until September 5.

We do love a bit of bamboo but the high-backed winged chairs can be a bit much if you’re not completely committed. This comfortable seat is a nice compromise. Plus, it’s on offer until September 5 for €125, which makes it a steal too.

Hinnerup coffee table, €149, on offer at €115 until September 7

We reckon this coffee table is going to fly out the door, partly because the office is already jostling elbows to be the first to nab one as soon as they arrive in store. On your marks…

Jonstrup dining chair, €49.99, on offer for €35 until September 5

This gorgeous pink tweed and gold-legged chair is the perfect antidote to that now-ubiquitous velvet dining chair.

Dokkedal TV bench, €79.99, on offer at €60 until September 5

This low side unit would make for a perfect TV unit for a little storage space at the foot of the bed.

Gadevang table €89.99, on offer at €70 until September 5

Have you ever tried looking for nicely proportioned end table? It’s almost impossible, either their barely big enough to hold a cup of tea or else they’re bordering on coffee-table-size. This one is perfect, with a handy bottom shelf too.

Dalby planter box €99.99, on offer at €75 until September 5

If you’ve become an house plant fan of late (and who hasn’t?) then you’ll love this little beauty. Store your pots in a way that gives them plenty of light without taking up every single available shelf space. Genius.

Cut out end table, €19.99, on offer at €15 until September 5

This might just be our favourite piece of the whole lot (and one of the cheapest too). Who doesn’t love fire engine-red mixed with interesting geometric cutouts?

Tulpan rug, €24.99, on offer at €15 until September 5

A rug with sunshine yellow and deep coral mixed with a palette on neutrals? Yes please.
