My First Issue!

Rosaleen McMeel

My first issue as editor of IMAGE Magazine hits newsstands today and I am giddier than a five-year-old with a bag of pick ‘n? mix about to meet her first puppy. I’m excited because I’m doing a job I love. I love magazines. I love reading them, and I love creating them. Combining the written word with beautiful visuals genuinely makes me happy. I’m excited because we – my amazing team and I – have been working really hard to give IMAGE the facelift it deserves. We’ve put in a lot of overtime trying to improve on a classic, while maintaining the integrity of a very well established brand. After all, IMAGE has been part of the Irish media landscape for the last 38 years and I really want to ensure it stays there for another 38.

I’m excited for you, the reader, to see the changes we’ve made, and I look forward to hearing your feedback. Putting the pages together might be a blast, but there’s no real point unless you love it just as much as I do. If I’m really honest, I want you to find yourself leaving copies lying around the house (subconsciously, of course) so that others can appreciate your great taste in reading material. I want you to look forward to the new issue every month almost as much as payday, and I really want you to rediscover the pleasure of taking time out of your busy day to enjoy the magazine. Take it from me; it goes really well with a cuppa and a slice of cake.

Happy reading.
