Remember when?Snapchat co-founder and CEO?Evan Spiegel proposed to Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr and made a customised special filter to pop the question and we all died of?jealousy? Well, prepare to swoon once more as today Kerr released photos of her gown, inspired by none other than Grace Kelly. And not just any gown, it’s a Custom Dior Haute Couture Gown, created by Dior’s artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri, the first woman to lead the design house in 69 years. ??
Speaking to Vogue, she said her imagination never strayed far from the iconic gown worn by?Grace Kelly at her 1956 wedding to Prince Rainier of Monaco, designed by the legendary Hollywood wardrobe costumer Helen Rose. Kelly’s gown, of antique Belgian lace, silk, taffeta, and tulle was created by over 35 seamstresses in the MGM studios.
Kerr’s choice of dress (in which we assume also was created by a small army), which she co-designed, had long sleeves and a high neck, and a floor-length veil with elaborate headdress. It’s the perfect combination of demure elegance and simple’details – note the detail on the dress ??A dress that fully covers you creates a sense of purity and mystery,? she said previously, ?In this period of my life, my style is more pulled back. My greatest sources of inspiration have always been Grace, Audrey Hepburn, and my grandmother, who at 80 has an effortless chic: a nice pant, a white blouse, a scarf, a little heel,? she said.
How gorgeous is her gown? ?And how beautiful and do they look (generally)?
Congratulations to the happy couple!
