Miley Cyrus Calls Out Sexism, Isn’t Really A Taylor Swift Fan

Pop star Miley Cyrus gets an awful lot of stick for trying to just ?express herself? as she puts it as an entertainer, and she feels that this in hindsight, isn’t really fair. In a new interview with Marie Claire, the outspoken singer called out a few things like the sexism in the music industry (she’s right about this), and the fact that she feels there is a certain double standard between say her own provocative performances and that of fellow popstar Taylor Swift using guns as ?a revenge weapon? in her ?Bad Blood? music video. And we have to say, she really makes a good point.

In the interview, 22-year-old Cyrus references Swift’s latest music video for ?Bad Blood,? in which one woman (Swift) plots her revenge on a former friend played by Selena Gomez (this is the song written about Swift’s former pal Katy Perry), and says that she can’t see how Swift can be called a role model for promoting the use of guns, while she gets called out for certain outfits that she might wear.

?I don’t get the violence revenge thing,? she told the magazine. ?That’s supposed to be a good example? And I’m a bad role model because I’m running around with my t**s out? I’m not sure how t**s are worse than guns.?

We’re thinking that Swift and Cyrus won’t be BFFs then.

?Kendrick Lamar sings about LSD and he’s cool. I do it and I’m a druggie w***e? – Miley Cyrus on sexism in the music industry.

In a way, we can see her point, it is like a double standard in a way. Two very different issues though. Swift doesn’t go for the nudity thing, which just generally seems to go down better with fans and so on and the public persona just works in Swift’s favour – she has the likability factor that Cyrus seems to have missed out on.

Cyrus’s calling out of the industry sexism is on point though: ?There is so much sexism, ageism, you name it,? she said. ?Kendrick Lamar sings about LSD and he’s cool. I do it and I’m a druggie w***e.?

She adds that she no longer cares what the public thinks of her. ?There’s nothing left to catch me doing,? she added. ?You want to hack my e-mail so you can find my nude pictures? I’ll just f??g put them up.?

Well, that told us! Do you agree with Cyrus?
