Lily-Rose Depp Came Out Via Instagram

Owner of the Instagram account of her generation, Lily-Rose Depp has partaken in an art project that seems to indicate the French-American teenager doesn’t identify as heterosexual. Lily-Rose, daughter of Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp, participated in the Self Evident Truth project, which aims to share images of Americans who fall on ?a broader spectrum of human sexuality.” The project is the brainchild of photographer iO Tillett Wright and through these portraits Wright wants to share awareness and understanding about sexuality and how we define ourselves.

By featuring in one of Wright’s images, Lily-Rose is hinting that she falls somewhere on this spectrum. However, Wright told Refinery 29 that it wasn’t her place to say what exactly Lily-Rose identifies as. “I’m not going to comment on where Lily-Rose falls, as that’s her private business, but I did take her portrait for the project,? she said. ?I’m sure she will make her own commentary on sexuality and acceptance when she’s ready to.”

Lily-Rose’s stepmother Amber Heard has also participated in the project. Heard is openly bisexual and came out in 2010. She married Johnny Depp earlier this year in two ceremonies – one in their LA home and another on Johnny Depp’s private island in the Bahamas.

Meanwhile 16-year-old Lily-Rose’s profile has been on the ascent of late. Not only is she building a film CV, but she’s also one of Chanel’s ambassador, appearing in an eyewear campaign for the iconic brand and showing up to Karl Lagerfeld’s catwalk shows.
