Wedding Trends 2018: Cool Marble and Metallic Cakes

Wedding cakes in 2018 are a little more dressed up than in past years. While naked cakes might be sticking around, they’ll have a little more wow factor with added drips and licks of gold leaf, silver or copper. For those who prefer their cakes covered up, marble and metallic look like the next big things and as for colour, think less pastel and more dramatic, deep hues. For a really powerful design statement, choose strong graphic elements and introduce some playful geometry… think architectural.

FYI If cake’s not your thing, dessert tables are bigger than ever and whether you’re a doughnut fan or not, you’re bound to be served some as a guest this wedding season. Cupcakes not so much.

Here’s a lookbook to share with your confectioner.
