Knickers Banned From Downton Set

Downton Abbey actors have been given a dressing-down, literally, from bosses, who have banned them from wearing modern underwear on set. Is this new rule perhaps related to the recent gaffe that saw a plastic water bottle put in an anachronistic appearance in the above promotional shot for the new series?

One cast member told the Telegraph, ?Modern watches and jewellery are out, and so even is modern underwear, as the danger is apparently too great it could be seen if we bend over? They have relented in the case of prescription glasses and asthma guns, but that’s about it.?

Still, we think the aftermath of the water-bottle debacle was handled with a GSOH and grace as the cast teamed up with the Water Aid charity to poke fun at themselves while asking people to donate much-needed funds.
