Iron Man Makes One-Armed Boy’s Dream Come True

Robert downey jr. gives alex an iron man prosthetic arm

For the most part, Robert Downey Junior has a reputation for being a bit too cool for school, with perhaps one of the biggest egos in the business. But whatever you think of him, he’s earned every bit of his success and as this video will show you, he’s got quite a big heart too and is totally capable of being humbled by a seven year old.

Here, he’s given a little boy who was unfortunate enough to be born with a partial limb a gift that dreams are made of. And this little guy’s a big fan of Iron Man, so you can imagine his excitement to walk into a room to find Robert Downey Jr. Surprisingly, the seven year old remained as cool as a cucumber when coming face to face with his hero.

RDJ remained in character as Tony Stark when he met young Alex as part of the Collective Project, which is the project behind Limbitless (which seeks to source prosthetic limbs for those in need).

RDJ was recruited by a leading bionics expert to make Alex’s dreams come true. He later took to Twitter to share what an honour it had been to meet this brave little dude.

?Had the absolute privilege of presenting a brand spanking new 3D-printed bionic Iron Man arm to Alex, the most dapper 7-year-old I’ve ever met… Special thanks to Albert Manero, OneNote, and #CollectiveProject for their work making artificial limbs like this more affordable for families with kids who want to show the playground how badass they are.”

Watch the video here, Kleenex in hand of course.
