The Spill LIVE
The Spill is IMAGE.ie’s very first podcast. Hosted by our very own agony aunts Sophie White and Rhona McAuliffe, the duo cover everything from current affairs to culture before dishing out some much-needed advice to listeners.
This month’s event tackles the theme of ‘Earthly Bodies’, and will feature a conversation between our hosts and acclaimed Irish writers, Emilie Pine and Louise McSharry, who have each sought to rewrite the narrative of the contemporary female body, “a body that has been idealised and sanitised to the point of annihilation”…
Note: There will be more light-hearted chats and many laughs along the way, too!
…So, what is a Podclub exactly?
The whole idea for the IMAGE PodClub came from a realisation that the world has become obsessed with podcasts, with people devouring shows with as much delight as they would their all-time favourite book. And yet, whilst every Susan, Sinead and Shania is now running their own book club, there is nowhere for podcast enthusiasts to come together (or at least, not in an organised setting).
We wanted to create a space where podcast lovers could come join up and chat about their favourite shows; explore the issues raised; and generally enjoy the same fun of a book club – but for podcasts.
We are so excited to run these monthly PodClub events, so keep an eye out on IMAGE.ie where we will be announcing each month’s theme. Every niche of podcast, from “True Crime” to “Parenting”, will get its time to shine!
