Celebrating this spooky time of year in style, last night a few of us here at IMAGE HQ had the exciting opportunity to be wined and dined at one of our new favourite spots, The Dylan Hotel’s Tavern restaurant.

The evening saw guests treated to a Halloween themed banquet with a specially created menu by the newly appointed executive head chef, Mark Bodie.

We were in good company on the night, with guests including designer Helen Steele, jewellery designer Melissa Curry, Miss Ireland 2013 Aoife Walsh, media powerhouse Norah Casey, author Paul Lynch and a bevy of Dublin foodies and lucky competition winners, all gathering at the exclusive event to toast to Dylan’s new restaurant, Tavern.

On arrival we were treated to a Halloween cocktail reception followed by Dylan’s delicious pumpkin and mushroom soup, and then a choice of starters including fresh crab meat served with citrus fruits, compressed melon and pumpkin seeds or an Irish pork plate of pork roulade, smoked pork belly, black pudding and crispy bits.

For mains, diners sank their teeth into delicious Silverhill duck breast, served with pak choi, mushroom and soy broth or roast turbot, accompanied with mussels, lobster meat, spinach, ratatouille and smoked tomato water.

Dylan’s classic Halloween theme continued through to dessert with a deliciously dark melting Valrhona chocolate sphere, followed by a sweet and quirky fairground assiette of treats including a toffee and apple doughnut, vanilla cone marshmallow and honeycomb chocolate and candy floss!

Foodie fanatics and industry insiders were treated to a night of delicious dining and bespoke cocktails in the stunning surrounds of the Dylan’s Tavern restaurant, the perfect start to what is sure to be a spectacular season for Dublin’s newest gourmet dining venture.

When can we go back?
