Glow up: Reese Witherspoon shares her favourite green smoothie recipe

During lockdown, we’ve had a few celebrities showing us that (at least virtually), they are quite handy in the kitchen.  Via Instagram, Actress Reese Witherspoon is the latest to show us how to prepare her go-to breakfast smoothie, which she has been drinking for the past eight years.

Her skin always has a Hollywood glow, thanks, in part, she says to this recipe. The Big Little Lies star revealed that her tried-and-tested favourite comes courtesy of her Little Fires Everywhere co-star, Kerry Washington.

Nearly 10 years ago, the duo sat next to each other at an awards show. Witherspoon turned to her and asked: “Your skin is beautiful! What do you do?” Washington replied that she felt it was down to the fact that she drank a healthy smoothie every day, swearing that doing so has given her stronger hair and nails, too.

And who wouldn’t want skin, hair and nails like Kerry Washington?

She explains protein powder, almond butter or flaxseed can also be added, along with the fruit and vegetables, adding that she substitutes it for breakfast as it keeps her feeling full until lunchtime. “I know it looks like it tastes gross, but it tastes so good!”
