Gift Guide: The Foodie Wish List

cheese

Whether it’s for your impossible-to-buy for dad or your boyfriend’s mum, gourmet gifts are always a solid present to give at Christmas. We’ve picked out the tastiest treats to wrap up and give to your loved ones this wintery season. If you’ve been good enough to them this year, they might even give you a nibble?

The savoury bites?

Luckily, the quality of cheese in Ireland is absolutely top notch. There are so many yummy brands out there, but Sheridans Cheesemongers do three different selections ranging from between €22.50 and €44.80. We love their Cheesemongers selection, which is picked daily depending which four cheeses are the best on the day.

Marks and Spencers also do a fab ?Cheese, Chutney and Oats Selection? for €37.00 that serves between fifteen and twenty people: Just enough to share with us then, lovely.

You can’t ignore the Christmassy call of smoked salmon, and Caviston’s Organic Smoked Salmon Full Side Organic Smoked Salmon Full Side (?42.00-?50.00) proves to be one of the tastiest.

The sweetest of treats?

There’s always multiple people on your Christmas list every year who are sure to have a relentless sweet tooth. We love Brown Thomas? gorgeous Charbonnel et Walker Pink Marc de Champagne Truffles (?14.50; buy these for your glam girlfriend), their?Rococo Chocolates Lime and Passion fruit Wafers (?18.00) and the Valrhona Gourmand 6 Bar Gift Set (?26.00).

For your friend who always hovers longingly at the Laduree counter but can’t make it into Grafton Street, Marks and Spencers have a ?24 Lustred Macaroon Gift Box? (?22.00) which looks both pretty and scrumptious.

PS? If you have a friend that may genuinely be addicted to chocolate, then this stunning ?Chocoholic Hamper? from Harvey Nichols (?85.00) may just be the way to go.

The foodie hampers?

There are so many delicious hampers around this Christmas from our favourite foodie emporiums. Our personal selection would include Caviston’s ?Fireside Snack Hamper? (?100),?Avoca’s Classic Hamper (?79.95) and Red Earth Luxury Christmas Food Hamper 5 Piece (?50.00), available in Arnotts.
