George is Getting Married Where?

A Venetian surprise!

George Clooney has revealed he will be marrying the incredibly impressive Amal Alamuddin in Venice, not his Lake Como home like everyone and their mother assumed. We genuinely believed that the beautiful Italian bolthole would host the actor and the human rights lawyer’s nuptials. It’s been the locale of some of Hollywood’s most glittering getaways and Brad Pitt and Matt Damon never seem to leave the mansion.

Clooney let the not-so-secret slip at a Celebrity Fight Night in Tuscany where, according to Harpers Bazaar, he said,

?I met my lovely bride-to-be here in Italy, whom I will be marrying, in a couple of weeks, in Venice,?of all places.?

In the meantime speculation about everything Clooney-wedding related is in overdrive – the couple are due to wed at the end of this month. The Mirror report the guestlist to be an intimate sixty. The couple have already secured their wedding licence from Chelsea Town Hall last month and it has been widely assumed George will wait at the top of the aisle clad in impeccable Armani after company representatives were seen in the Lake Como area. Alamuddin’s dress remains a mystery – will it be Vera Wang? Or a patriotic McQueen? Watch this fevered space where we’ll be holding backroom bets.
