12 easy breezy pieces to wear at home when it becomes too warm for loungewear

12 easy breezy pieces to wear at home when it becomes too warm for loungewear

At some point, it will become too warm to wear loungewear. Here are 12 easy-to-wear pieces to swan around in at home when the temperature rises

Have you ever heard of Scaraveen?

It is otherwise known in the Irish language as “garbh shion na gcuach” and translates to “the rough weather of the cuckoo”. Over the past week, my parents have been wandering around the house ominously saying “it’s the Scaraveen” whenever one of us children say it’s cold.

But it has been freezing here in Co Kerry and if my parents are right, it’s the cuckoo’s fault.

Following a deliciously warm April, May hit us with a chill. This phenomenon happens every year. We get a shot of cold weather in May and then the heat quickly follows to shun the shivers. My father even said he remembers it snowing in May during the 1960s.

Easy dressing

Now you may not believe in the old wives’ tales of our ancestors, but the weather is not tanning our skin. We still need loungewear and cosy pyjamas, but at some point, the sweat will form and the layers will come off. No longer will we want a matching jumper and sweatpants while working from home.

We will want easy dressing. It will be too warm for our cushy wardrobe and the kitchen/office will soon mirror a sauna.

Luckily, the online high street is excelling in breezy dressing. Trapeze dresses and airy midi skirts are taking over the new-in pages. Easy to wear jumpsuits are key and cotton shirts are the height of comfort during Zoom conference calls.

COS is particularly good for pieces such as this. While Uterque is offering relaxed designs with a high-fashion feel.

Now, all we have to do is wait for the cuckoo to fly away.
