Root out the old t-shirts (just us?), forget about dusting off the CD’s because Spotify and Apple music now exists – just get ready. Prepare for the nostalgia, the flying without wings, the bop bop baby-ing because it’s official: Westlife is back.

Seven years since they announced that it was the end of an era, Westlife have announced that they will be touring as part of a special comeback tour in 2019.

Four grown men, irresistible pop songs (because they don’t quite make ’em as they used to) on those iconic high stools and all that cheeky side-eye? We’ll take it.

Celebrating their 20th anniversary, The Twenty Tour will kick off in Belfast on May 25th next with a run of live shows ending in Croke Park on Friday, July 5th.

The band will perform new songs alongside a mixture of their greatest, tearjerking hits.

The beloved foursome announced the news on social media on Wednesday night, confirming the tour rumours as well as news of an imminent new album.

Shane, Nicky, Mark and Kian announced their return to music two weeks ago as they teased a new video with news of a tour.

Rumour has it that Ed Sheeran has penned the boys’ comeback single and all we’ll say to this is please God let it be true.

Tickets from €59.50 will be on sale Thursday, 25th October at 9am via Ticketmaster.

The dates announced today are:

Sat 25 May: Belfast SSE Arena

Sun 26 May: Belfast SSE Arena

Thu 30 May: Manchester Arena

Fri 31 May: Newcastle Metro Radio Arena

Mon 03 June: Glasgow The SSE Hydro

Fri 07 June: Sheffield Fly DSA Arena

Mon 10 June: Leeds First Direct Arena

Thu 13 June: London The O2

Tue 18 June: Nottingham Motorpoint Arena

Fri 21 June: Birmingham Arena

Tue 25 June: Liverpool Echo Arena

Fri 5th July: Dublin Croke Park

Fans can also gain exclusive access to ticket pre-sales if they pre-order the as yet unentitled new album before October 22nd.

Westlife have returned to fill the very large boyband gap in our hearts with all the misery in the world of late, we have earned the right to bask in the cheesy glow that only comes with truly great pop music.
