Your Complete Hair And Make-Up Wedding Checklist

Planning your wedding should be a hugely exciting experience packed full of fun, loving moments and lots (and lots) of sparkle. To avoid all the fuss and pressure surrounding the build-up, we recently attended Jenny McCarthy’s wedding masterclass at the beautiful Killashee Hotel where make-up master, Derrick Carberrry and Carolann Moylan from Black Amber Hair Salon revealed their top-tips to help guide all brides to the perfect day. Check out their wedding checklists below!

. Secure your makeup artist well in advance of the wedding date to avoid disappointment.

. Book a trial before you pay your wedding deposit.

. Your make-up artist should recommend any touch up products needed for your day.

. Designate a bridesmaid to keep a bag with touch-up products – powder and lip gloss/stick are key.

. Confirm a start time on the morning of your wedding and a running order for hair and make-up – it’s important to include everyone that will need their make-up done and no more. Avoid adding extras on the day as this will put the schedule off-track.

. Make your plan well in advance of the big day.

. Use stylist recommended homecare for your hair.

. Try not to make a change to your hairstyle on the morning of the wedding. If this does happen though, don’t panic! Your stylist will be able to fix it, especially if you’ve done your homework and chosen a person who you are familiar with.

. Choose a hairstyle that’s not too different to how you normally wear your hair. If you always wear your hair down, stay with this as it will feel most comfortable throughout the day.

. Let your stylist know how many are in the schedule for the morning of the wedding
