Blake Lively is Expecting!

Blake Lively is expecting a baby! The?Gossip Girl actress revealed the news of her pregnancy today over on her lifestyle website,?Preserve, with a autumnal photo shoot and blog entry about mothers. The 27-year-old actress and her?Preserve crew keep things vague at first with lines like ?With family on our mind, we looked to the origin of it all?to the women in our lives who are right there, at that special moment; at the creation of family? teasing us. Then you scroll down through images of place settings and baby shoes and BAM! there it is, a beautiful photo of Mrs. Ryan Reynolds and her flowing blonde locks basking in the dying rays of the sun and cradling her visible baby bump.

Lively and Reynolds married in 2012 and this is the first child for the couple. Last month, Reynold’s ex-wife Scarlett Johansson gave birth to a daughter with her Romain Dauriac. Lively has been dropping hints about her desire to be a mother for some time now – a few weeks ago the actress admitted she wanted a large family, saying “If I could spit out a litter of kids, I would”. As well as preparing for impending motherhood, Blake will be busy expanding Preserve’s remit with more posts on family.

From announcing pregnancies to conciously uncoupling, it seems lifestyle blogging is the way forward for celebrities looking to control their publicity strategy. Won’t anyone think of the poor paparazzi missing out on speculative scoops?
