On the 30th of September, the public was invited by Beefeater London Dry Gin’to witness 9 of the best bartenders battle their way through to become the Irish Finalist in the Beefeater MIXLDN Global Bartender Competition.

Each finalist had to craft one of their best cocktails using Gin in order to show their best skills but also a cocktail that translates the spirit of London. A very high standard of competition could be seen on the night, and the jury was none other than the public. And Carl D?Alton from The Folkhouse Bar in Kinsale, Co. Cork was crowned the winner of this year’s competition.

The winning cocktail was called “London’s Burning”, it was a twist on the classic Negroni and was inspired by the fire of London and how the city was rebuilt to become a modern classic.

Carl received a three day trip to London where he will be representing Ireland?at the global final in January 2016.

The winner of Beefeater MIXLDN 2015 will become Beefeater’s Apprentice Brand Ambassador and will have the opportunity to support the brand’s team of Global Ambassadors for one year. After in-depth one-to-one training at Beefeater: The Home of Gin in London, the Global Champion will represent Beefeater at exclusive events in their geographic region and will travel to some of the world’s most prestigious bartender events, including the Moscow Bar Show and the Berlin Bar Convent.
