Melanie Morris finds some real make-up innovations in time for summer.
GOLD STAR
If summer needs a more portable status symbol than a luxury yacht or private jet, it must come encased in the white and gold packaging of Tom Ford’s divine Soleil collection. The mix of primers, bronzers, cheek, lip and eye colours will keep us glowing until the last freckle fades. We particularly love the Moisturecore Lip Colours, €49, each of which comes with a core of balm for intense hydration, sexy sheen and powerful, pigmented shade.
STICKING POINT
Paese Drop & Fix, €12, is a colourless liquid that when blended with eye’shades, liners and pigments, gives them an intense colour boost as well as staying power. Helps keep those shimmering summer shades fixed, amps up tones and textures, helps lipstick last longer, and is a must for eyeliner flicks that simply have to stay put. A new make-up bag must.
GREEN GODDESS
Lanc’me targets the new generation of ?lively millennials? with their new trinity of skin-boosting skincare launches under the ?nergie De Vie umbrella. Packed with antioxidants, the fresh, light Pearly Wake-up Lotion, €37, and Liquid Moisturiser, €37, are a daily skin prep duo to soften, plump and hydrate skin, while the gel-consistency Sleeping Mask, €55, offers overnight support and repair. One busy twentysomething IMAGE staffer gave it a road test, and was addicted over one short weekend.
CLEAN UP
The StylPro Make-up Brush Cleaner, €65 at meagherspharmacy.ie, makes the odious job of de-gunking tools a breeze. Simply add the cleansing/conditioning solution, €14.99, into the small, centrifugal, bowl-shaped gadget, insert brush, dunk, spin and dry, and in less than a minute, you’re good to go. Not only ultra-effective, but super-satisfying to use too.
