Avril Lavigne Announces Divorce From Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger

Avril Lavinge has announced her split from her husband of two years on her Instagram to 1.8 million followers last night. The Canadian singer posted a photo of her with the 40-year-old Nickleback frontman from a happier time on her account, writing, ?It is with heavy heart that Chad and I announce our separation today. Through not only the’marriage,?but the music as well, we’ve created many unforgettable moments. We are still, and forever will be, the best of friends, and will always care deeply for each other. To all our family, friends and fans, thank you sincerely for the support.?

The 30-year-old married Chad just over two years ago in France, but rumours of divorce has been reported in the past year after the couple weren’t spotted together for long stretches of time. However, many though such speculated upon discord died a death after Avril announced earlier this year she was suffering from Lyme’s disease, a debilitating condition which damages one’s nervous system. Avril was out of action for a few months while she was undergoing treatment, but her health seems to be on a good track now and her career saw a moment of rebirth after she joined Taylor Swift on stage at one of the singer’s recent concerts. The couple also bought a LA mansion worth $5.4 million during the summer – an unexpected move on the part of a couple parting ways.

Lavigne was previously marred to Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley from 2006 to 2009.
