Autumnal picks to warm up your home

Autumn is a time for transition, as school and college start the temperature drops and the clocks go back, it conjures up a sense of change.

What better time to refresh your interior with some cosy autumnal vibes. Get inspired by all the crisp fallen leaves surrounding us at the moment, as they go from lush green and bright yellow to burnt oranges and rustic reds. Emulate these warm tones and rich textures with some new homeware picks to spice things up.

Two seater sofa

If anything says autumn it’s this sumptuous orange velvet sofa from Habitat. Imagine simply lounging in this for an hour or entire evening. It’s giving us mid-century modern vibes with its classic box shape but with the extra comfort of looser soft covers.

Sofa, £1350, Habitat

Throw

A beautiful jacquard woven blanket for your sofa or bed. The rich tones and opulent texture will immediately warm up any room and is perfect to throw on for a cosy night in on those cold autunm evenings.

Throw, €20, H&M.

Cushion

This textured animal print cushion cover from Zara will liven up any living room or sofa. More importantly, with chenille fabric it’s super soft to cuddle up on too.

Cushion cover, €23, Zara

Chair

If you’re going all-out on revamping your interior this autumn, this leather chair from Nordic Elements is definitely worth the investment. Its natural hide leather is stretched around a steel exterior boasting some midwestern undertones. It’s definitely going to be the focus of any room its perched in.

Chair, €620, Nordic Elements

Table

This transparent table from Kartell is anything but invisible. Its lightweight airy appearance embodies a minimal Japanese design while the linear, non-imposing frame ensures it will seamlessly fit into any style interior.

Table, €734, Houseology

Rug

A rug is another great way to subtly introduce some colour into a room without committing too much. In beautiful burnt hues, this handmade Kelim rug from Ferm Living combines craftsmanship with contemporary design. The traditional weaving method also means it has a natural tactile feel.

Rug, €239, Ferm Living.

Lamp

If you’re looking for something different this table lamp from Muuto definitely fits the bill. It’s a nod to the traditional light bulb but with a playful twist. The control merges industrial style with Scandinavian simplicity.

Lamp, £135, Maven

Blanket

This lambswool blanket is the perfect excuse to cancel your social plans and willingly lay on the couch for the evening instead. Softer than sheep’s wool its fibres are therefore suitable for the most sensitive of skin and the burnt amber hues make it a gorgeous addition to any couch (when you are not wrapped up in it that is).

Blanket, €79, Industry & Co

Vase

This tall elegant earthenware vase from Article is the perfect autumnal addition. With broad stripes of rust and burnt orange its perfect for holding your flowers or nothing at all. Due to the warm colours and paintery ceramic texture will certainly animate any space it sits in.

Vase, €24, Article

Glassware

Autumn isn’t just about warm red and orange tones, there’s also all those heavenly falling greens. These glasses named ‘Leaf’ are the perfect acknowledgement, even more exciting is the fact that you can drink wine out of them. Perfect combination.

Glasses, €25, Amara.
