8 Celebrity Couples We’d Love To See Get Back Together

With the news that Miley Cyrus is rumoured to be reconciling with Liam Hemsworth rife this evening – she’s been spotted wearing her engagement ring again – we’re hoping it’s a sign that the celebrity splits might well and truly be on the back burner for at least some of 2016. Call us romantics, but we’re hoping it’s the year of love because those frequent tales of separation woe last year were downright depressing.

And if Cyrus and Hemsworth were to reconcile, we’d be euphoric as they seem to still adore each other – they even adopted a dog, even though they’d been split for some time. Post-relationship goals, anyone?

This got us thinking about other famous pairings that we’d genuinely love to see reunited. And before you protest, we know each couple has moved onwards and upwards at this point in time, but it’s still Blue Monday, and some of us need cheering up, and it never hurts to dream, right? Because let’s be honest; the world was a happier place when Justin and Britney wore matching denim outfits and when Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams did THIS (for real) at the MTV Movie Awards. Scroll down for other celebrity couples that, if even for a day, we would love to give things another go:

1. Britney Spears And Justin Timberlake

Turn. Back. Time.

2. Brad Pitt And Jennifer Aniston?

Yes, we’re going there. Both parties have found happiness with others?(Jen was married last year and Pitt and Jolie have had around 20 kids together), but we still can’t help but wonder what might have been. Just look at them.

3. Zac Efron And Vanessa Hudgens

Premiere of Universal Pictures' "Charlie St. Cloud" - ArrivalsThey sang and danced together in three High School Musical Movies together. Surely that counts for something?

4. Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson

Both have new partners and a baby, but here was a couple that looked downright gorgeous together. Everyone used to talk about it. Reynolds allegedly called time on the union and things are still icy between the pair apparently so we’re not holding out hope.

5. Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson

The 32nd Annual American Music Awards - Arrivals

They never really seemed that suited, but the tale of how they split and then decided they had to give it a go made for the basis of some brilliant reality TV (back when reality TV used to mean something). Yours truly still misses their show.

6. Heidi Klum And Seal

InStyle and Warner Bros. 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards Post-Party

We thought these two were in it for the long haul. Remember how Klum used to gush about him and how adorable he looked holding a tiny baby? We were all devo when they called it a day.

7. Robert Pattinson And Kristen Stewart

Premiere Of Summit Entertainment's "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" - Arrivals

Things went pear-shaped for this seemingly solid couple after rumours of an apparent affair between Stewart and her Snow White And The Huntsman director,?Rupert Sanders surfaced. It caused a scandal (Stewart publicly apologised and everything) resulting in separations for both parties. But we still remember how Stewart and R-Patz used to look at each other during the Twilight press tours and we can’t help but feel sadness for all involved.?And we kind of miss the’days when fans were so invested in their relationship that they went to stores to hide all the magazines that featured stories on their breakup. Then there was that #Unbroken hashtag…

8. Rachel McAdams And Ryan Gosling

Gosling?once said that their own love story was better than The Notebook‘s Noah and Ali. Even his family wanted them to make it. So to this day, we all still wonder why they couldn’t, even though they’re both happy. (We want them to be happy by the way. We’d just rather they were happy together).
