6 gorgeous picnic baskets we need this summer

Picnic in style this summer — these gorgeous picnic baskets are as practical as they are pretty

Summer officially started on May 1 and it’s finally starting to feel like it. This Saturday is predicted to reach a high of 18 degrees.

Enjoying a sunny picnic is a great way to get out of the house and refresh, whether it’s spending your lunch hour in the back garden or driving to the park — maintaining social distancing rules, of course.

Here are our top six picnic baskets, for just two people or the whole family.

For two

1. JVL’s split willow basket13

This multipurpose basket is perfect for keeping things simple. Its cream lining is removable and washable; plus it’s super affordable at just 13.

2. Carraig Donn 2-person picnic basket – €39

Currently on sale, this double-sided wicker wonder is the perfect balance of indulgence and practicality. It includes knives, forks, spoons, plates, wine glasses, a corkscrew and salt ‘n’ pepper shakers — all for two.

3. Inno Stage white willow hamper set – €69

For something a bit more luxurious, this tasteful white basket comes with classic red checker, waterproof lining. It has a special cooler compartment for keeping food fresh and includes stainless steel cutlery, wine glasses, ceramic plates, cotton napkins and a fleece picnic blanket.

For four

4. Happy Picnic huntsman picnic hamper –  €107

This nautical picnic hamper comes with a built-in cooler, plus tableware sets for four people, a cheeseboard, salt ‘n’ pepper shakers and a canvas blanket, all of which are washable for an easy clean up.

5. Inno Stage picnic backpack for four – €90

This clever carrier is more of a picnic backpack than a basket, making it super easy to carry if you have your hands full with a pram or toys for the kids. The inside is fully insulated and spacious, and it comes with strapped-in tableware, a cheese board and cutter, napkins, shakers, wine glasses and a waterproof blanket.

6. Bamboo hamper gift set – €131

This ultimate picnic basket is worth every high-priced penny. Along with the basics, it comes with a bamboo table with four wine glass holders, just fold it back after opening. It also includes a bottle carrier and a picnic blanket — sorted!
