We’re remembering our favourite onscreen dads for Father’s Day

With Father’s Day just around the corner (this Sunday 20h June, so yes, you do have time to buy yours a present), we’re remembering our favourite on-screen dads. From bald and bonkers, to loyal and loving; these TV and movie characters remind us (in many ways) of our own dads. Nail salons reopened their doors to the public earlier this week and between getting our hair done and our talons preened, we’ve never felt more put together in all our lives. To think we used to have such luxuries readily available to us all the time. The initial verdict returned in January had indicated Nóra’s death was accidental. High court judge Azizul Azmi Adnan instead issued an open verdict, which does not rule out the possibility of criminal involvement. It is hoped the ruling may pave the way for further...

Andrew McGinley: ‘I know that they wouldn’t want me to be sad.’

Following the utterly devastating trial of his wife Deirdre last week, Andrew McGinley spoke afterward of the love of his three beautiful children. Even in the depths of what is heartwrenching grief, Andrew McGinley spoke beautifully of his need to keep going, that the love of his children Darragh, Conor and Carla was what got him out of bed each morning. In what can only be described as an utterly tragic case, his wife Deirdre – or Dee as he called her – was found not guilty by reason of insanity for the murder of their three children. There is...
