So you’ve gotten engaged and you’re on the hunt for a ring that suits you style and your budget but big and sparkly were never really your thing. Plus, you’re trying to save for a deposit on a house and all these glittering jewels cost a small fortune and depreciate quite significantly after you’ve purchased. So what do you do?

We’ve fallen hard for the lovely bride on the front cover of IMAGE Brides with her adorable wrist tattoo and it got us thinking, could we opt for inky commitment rather than blingy commitment? B?yonce and Jay Z went for it – they have their wedding date tattooed under their wedding bands – so why shouldn’t us plebs.

And it turns out, there are some absolute beauties out there! Keep it simple with a small infinity band or label your ring finger with your partner’s initials. And that star sign tat? So simple and sweet!

So why not consider a simple tattoo instead of a ring? You won’t have to spend a fortune on it or live in constant fear of losing it. It’s a win-win, but maybe just warn your parents about it beforehand. They may need some time to get used to the idea.

Which is your favourite?
