7 shampoos, masks and creams to cleanse pollution from your hair

The newest innovations in haircare come formulated to target three specific issues: the scalp, damaged hair and pollution. In the November issue of IMAGE Magazine, on sale now, Holly O’Neill tries the products that will renew your tresses.

Exposure to pollution, meaning anything from car exhausts to central heating, smoke, fine dust and more, can cause damage to the scalp and leave our hair dull, weak, brittle and prone to breakage. Cleanse out pollution and protect against further damage with these…

Klorane Anti- Pollution Detox Shampoo with Aquatic Mint, €11.50, detoxifies the hair and scalp, leaving your hair feeling squeaky clean. Your scalp feels like it’s breathing too – perfect after a long week of dry shampooing.

Apply Davines The Purity Circle Mask, €10.50, for ten minutes to target impurities caused by pollution, with matcha to defend against free radicals, and absorbing bamboo charcoal.

Once or twice a week, use Phyto Clarifying Detox Shampoo, €14, which clarifies the hair, leaving it light, shiny and clean. Plus, the smell of eucalyptus oil makes using this something of a self-care experience.

Kerastase Soleil CC Creme, €26.10, is a leave-in multi-purpose cream that smooths the hair, feeds it with nutrients and contains UV filters – don’t go on a sun holiday without this.

Revlon Professional Magnet Anti-Pollution Restoring Mask, €22, will reinforce your hair and reduce further damage.

Joico Defy Damage Protective Masque, €24.95, penetrates the hair deeply with bond-strengthening nutrients, builds your hair’s resistance to damage, protects your colour
and leaves the hair silky soft.

The Hair Rituel by Sisley Pre-Shampoo Purifying Mask, €75, as the name suggests, purifies the scalp, absorbs excess sebum and cleanses the scalp of pollutants.
